If you are looking for somewhere off the beaten track this coming dry season, Jozibanini Camp in the remote south west of Hwange National Park is just the place...  When we say Jozi is ‘remote’ and ‘exclusive,’ we really do mean exactly that; you will be among the first tourists to visit this part of Hwange for a very long time.  The camp is simple but comfortable, with bucket showers and campfire style dining, a day’s game drive from our other Imvelo properties.  Jozibanini offers some very unique activities to Hwange including game viewing by mountain bike, beds that slide out onto the tent decks for a 'star bed' experience and a look up game viewing hide in front of the camp waterhole which makes for excellent close up photographic opportunities of Hwange's giants, the elephants.

Perched on the edge of Batoka Gorge, with awesome views of the Zambezi River 250 metres below, and across into Zambia, Little Gorges is the latest addition to Imvelo Safari Lodges’ portfolio of spectacular, remote and exclusive destinations. Overlooking the dramatic junction of the Dibu Dibu River and the Zambezi, Little Gorges has five tented bedrooms and a stone-under-thatch central dining and entertainment area where guests can relax with a cold drink from the bar.

In a factory warehouse in Bulawayo the Nel father-son combo who designed and built the ‘Look Up Photography Blind’ have taken on their biggest challenge for us yet.

Our new passenger tram to move guests by rail to Bomani and Camelthorn at the south east corner of Hwange is approaching completion and certainly exceeds our expectations.  Can we call a tram beautiful?  We’ll wait and see what you say!

Field testing and trial runs are still to be done but this project adds another new element to the excitement we’re having at Imvelo pushing boundaries and re-inventing tourism in southern Hwange.

Get ready  - 'The Elephant Express' is coming!

A very exciting development is on the horizon! In the 1970's a rangers station was established in Jozibanini, one of the southern most areas of Hwange National Park that was abandoned 12 years ago. Imvelo Safari Lodges has now taken on the lease of this wild area with an aim to re-establish a permanent presence in this beautiful setting.

' Jozi' will be a  small, exclusive camp in a truly wild place that will provide guests with a unique and very exciting experience. Initially a stylish 4 bedded tented camp with en suite flush toilets and hot and cold running water showers will be built on a raised deck behind an unobtrusive elephant proof barrier.

A second 'Look up Blind' is under construction to be installed at the waterhole and ideally bookings here should be aligned over the 10 day period straddling the full moon dates, as game viewing by moonlight from the underground blind will be a once in a lifetime experience. We are exploring several exciting new activities including mountain biking down the ancient elephant paths that run for miles and miles in this part of Hwange, and the restoration of the old Rangers house as a museum recording some of Hwange's fascinating past
.

Our flagship lodge Camelthorn is situated in one of Hwange’s last remaining well-protected and un-spoilt acacia woodlands, on the edge of the South Eastern corner of Hwange National Park. The main lodge is unique in its style and design and has as its centre piece a huge ancient Camelthorn tree that spans a 35-metre outdoor dining area! The last four of the 8 luxuriously furnished forest villas has just been completed and we wanted to share the stunning finished product with you.

Gorges Lodge offers a unique Victoria Falls experience from a peaceful and idyllic base on the edge of the Batoka Gorge - a perfect choice for your Victoria Falls safari adventure! The Imvelo team have been hard at work this year upgrading the Gorges chalets to ensure every part of your stay at Gorges is unforgettable. We are pleased to announce that 4 of the chalets have been completed and look very safari chic with all the luxury comforts.

The upgrade has completely transformed the chalets! The bathroom has been made bigger and features  deluxe twin shower heads plus a third hand held shower and a rimless glass and seating area. There are new twin vanities, new floors and toilet as well as new light fittings and glass brick windows.
The bedrooms have been enlarged, and the room is equipped with many new finishing's such as international plug points, mosquito gauze on the doors and windows, bar fridges installed in the walls, new overhead fans, new feature doors and all new soft furnishings to complete the changes.

The remaining 6 chalets are planned for refurb at the end of 2014 leaving us with a wonderfully new elegant lodge to complement the spectacular views described as some of the best in Southern Africa!

 On the banks of the Zambezi, nestled within the islands and channels at Siansimba, is Imvelo’s exciting new Siansimba River Lodge- to be opened in 2014.
 
Less than an hour’s drive from Victoria Falls and surrounded by a wide variety of wildlife in the Zambesi National Park, guests will be accommodated in huge tents on wooden decks kept cool by the huge ebony and sausage trees throughout the camp.  With private splash pools and views across the river, Siansimba River Lodge is a peaceful haven by day and home to roaring lions at night.
 
Together with visits to the Falls and wildlife activities by open game vehicle and on foot, a variety of water based
